Red Lyon Street Holborn Butcher Taken
and made on Oath before me David Walker< no role >
Esqr. one of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace
in and for the said County the 2nd. day of June 1783

Who upon his Oath Saith That on Easter Tuesday last
being the 22nd. day of April last about the hour of Seven
o Clock in the Evening of the same day he was met by a
Man in the Strand near Charing Cross who accosted him
this Informant and asked him what Country man he was,
this Informant told him he was a Warwickshire Man,
upon which he asked this Informant if he knew and
Mr. Eaves there and upon beingaskedanswered in the
Affirmative he then brained an acquaintance with this
Informant and asked him to go and see the Kings
Horses which this Informant agreed to and then Two other
Men came and joined Company with themThat they
then went to the Kings Mews Charing Cross and saw
some of the, Kings Horses and afterwards this Informant
went with the said Three Mew to a Tavern near
to the said Mews where they all Drank together
quantity of Wine That after they had been together about
three quarters of an Hour Two of the Men proposed to play
at Cards and Cards were produced and this Informant
and Two of the Men out the Cards for half Crowns and
Crowns In so much That this Informant had won
about twenty five Shillings. That they had then been
in the Tavern about an hour and an half and this
Informant began to get Intoxicated with Liquor
