taken before me this 26th.. day of November 1781

Who being upon Oath say and first the said Charles
William Boughton Rouse< no role > says that a person now present who calls
himself William Knox< no role > lived with him as his Servant for about
ten Months past-Says that during the time the said William
Knox< no role > lived with him as aforesaid about fifteen pair of laced
Ruffles, a Gold Watch, six or eight Cambrick Handkerchiefs
and other Wearing Apparel have been stolen out of his House-That he is very sure four pair of
Ruffles & a Gold Watch now produced are the same that were stolen
from him as aforesaid and that he doth verily believe five Cravats
also now produced to be made from out of his Linen-The
said Elizabeth Wilmot< no role > says that on a Sunday about six Weeks
ago, she had been out in the Evening, and returned home
between 9 & 10, at which time the said William Knox< no role > was
at homeThat after said Knox had let her into the House
he sat down with a Book before him and continued in that
situation about five Minutes, when he turned round and
observing a Ruffel now produced lying on the ground, he picked
it up and asked this Informant what it was, to which she
answered "that she thought it was a robbin which had
fallen out [..] of the Table Drawer"That said Knox then
[..] immediately said "that it was not her Robbin, but
that it was Tom Malones Ruffle and had fallen out of his pocket
and that the said Malone had [..] been there that Evening"
That about an hour afterwards she in company with another
Woman went up Stairs to Bed, in the Room where the said
Mr. Rouses Linen Etc is kept, and on entering the Room she
