Chiswick 16 April 1781 Touching the Death
of Thos: Pain< no role > then and there lying Dead

Rich'd Wordly of Town Acton Carpenter
Sayeth on Tuesday or Wednesday he See the Beadle
of the Hamlet of Hammersmith leading the above
Thos. Pain Under the Anne and that he Thinks he forced
him a long and that the Beadle asked him if he was not
a Shame [..] of his self and that the Evidence Sayes he
think him Ill treated by forceing him a long and thinks he was not
abel to walk

Green Living at Mr. Richd: Onion< no role > s Sayeth that last
Tuesday the Beadle Brought him into the White-hart
at Hammersmith and gave him a Pennyworth of Strong
Beer and that the Poor man was not Abel to Drank [..]
his Beer and he than did take hold of him by the Shoulders
and Sneked his Breech and Sayed git up You Rascall
and forced him out

That on Tuesday April 10th. 1781 a Person Called at
the Workhouse to desire that I would send and fetch a Poor
Man that was dying in this Parish on which I came
Immediately and found the Poor man was Very Ill
Therefore Sent for the Workhous Chear to bring him and
when he Came into the House we asked him wat Parish he
belonged to and wat was his Names he Said he was Very ill
and Should be glad to be Passed Home to his own Parish which was
Braddel Abby in Buckingham Shire We gave him Some
Nurrishment and after Washing him we put him to Bed
and we Thought him something betterbut the Next
Morning I found him as I thought Much Worse therefore
I sent for the Doctor and he sent him Some Powders he
took one & Departed this Life on Thursday Morning 2 O Clock
