Middlesex to wit

The Information of Joseph Quick< no role >
taken before Us two of his Majestys
Justices of the peace for the said County

Who being upon Oath saith that he is one of the Watchman
of the parishof the parishof Saint Mary le Bone that
he being upon his Duty between three and four o Clock
on Monday Morning last in Oxford Market Stopped
a person now present who calls himself Robert Smith< no role >
who had then upon himwithan Iron Instrument with
Lead at each end now produced which was upon
a Great Coat this Informant as king him what he
had got these he told him that [..] button making & that this Informant night
go, with him to the Cheesmongers in Wimpole Street
but where he Lodged [..] mention there Cheesmongers name this Infant
say'd he would not that he should go with him and as
he was Conveying him to the Watchhouse, in John Street
he met John Craft< no role > one of the Patrole & delivered the
said Robert Smith< no role > into his Custody but the said
Robert Smith< no role > was suffered to go at large that it coming
afterwards to the knowledge of this Informant that some
other persons were taken into Custody with [..]
some Enquires now produced and finding that an Error
had been Committed by Discharging Robt, Smith
he Informed Alexander Doneldson the Constable of the
Night what had happened of the Discharge of Smith &
desired him to go with this Informant to the Cheesmonger
in Wimpole Street and they went to the House and
found a Woman which this Informant believe to be the
Wife of John Date, up and Dressed she Opened the
Door & had a Lamp in her hand upon which this Informt
the Constable & two other persons went in upon looking
into the Back Parlour they saw the said Robert
Smith
< no role > when this Informant say'd to him Mr Bullon
maker you have flung me once but shall not fling
me again then Secured him & kept him in Custody
while the Constable & she others searched the House
but what was found there he doth not know
