Middlesex to wit


The Information of Alexander Hart< no role > Esqr
taken before me the 9th. day of November 1774

Who being upon Oath says that some time ago a Gold ring with a
Stone Seal set therein, a Steel Watch Chain, a Seal unset, and several
Books were feloniously stolen from him in Scotland, that having
cause to suspect that David Maine< no role > now present had, stolen the said
Effects this Informant came to London in Search of the said David
Maine
< no role > , that he found out by enquiry that a TrunkBoxof the said
David Maine's was at the house of Mr. Russel in Craven Street
in the County of Middlesex , that when he came to the said Mr.
Russel's he found the said Trunk sealed in four different places
that the said seals were the Impressions of the first mentioned
Seal Ring, that on opening the said Trunk in the Presence of the
said Mr. Russel this Informant found therein some Books which had
been stolen from this Informant in Scotland, that when the
said David Maine< no role > was brought from Dover to Bow Street in the
County of Middlesex this Informant found in the Possession of
the said David Maine< no role > the said Steel Watch Chain & the said unset
Seal which had been stolen from this Informant in Scotland which
said unset Seal had since been set in Silver And this Informant
further says that he does verily believe the said David Maine< no role >
did feloniously take and carry away the said Gold Seal ring
Steel Watch Chain unset Seal and several Books from this
Informant in Scotland which have been since found in the
Possession of the said David Maine in the County of Middlesex
