Parliament to this great and respectable Corporation) will not
adopt any Scheme detrimental and destructive to the Rights
and Property of your Memorialists (Members of the same
Venerable Body acting also as Trustees of a Charity whereof
many of you have been the Worthy & generous Supporters)
merely upon a disputable Opinion of speculative Magnificence
Your Memorialists therefore Earnestly request
that (through your Worships kind Interposition
Favour) the proposed Scheme may not be carried
into Execution but that the present spacious
Opening terminating upon Fleet Market
as now
used may continue to be the Street or Avenue to
the said Bridge and that your Worships (Considering
yourselves as Guardians and Protectors of this
Publick Charity) will take such prudent and
moderate Measures in Executing the Powers
Committed to your Care by the said Act as will
effectually secure and perpetuate to your Memorialists
and their Trust the Use and Enjoyment of their
antient the good & landable Intentions of their
Munificent Founder and Benefactors

Now upon Reading the said several Orders Reports and
Memorial It is Unanimously agreed that the said last mentd.
Report and Memorial be and the same are hereby approved
and Confirmed And It is thereupon Ordered That the Clerk
of these Hospitals do sign the said Memorial and Deliver the
same to the Clerk of the Worshipful Committee for building
the said Bridge And It is further Ordered that the Committee
of this Hospital be at Liberty and they are hereby Impowered
to treat with the Worshipful the Committee for building the
said Bridge upon the several Matters mentioned & contained
in the said several Orders Reports and Memorial And to
Certify to this Court the Result of their Proceedings with
their Opinion thereon Whereupon such further Order shall
be made as may be just and reasonable.
