Upon reading a Report from the Comittee of this House bearing date the
11th. day of Janry instant under the hands of Edward Holloway< no role > Esqr . Trear
Dr. Richard Rawlinson< no role > , Mr. Robert Henshaw< no role > , Mr. Gilbert Malcher< no role > & Mr.
Deputy Hunt in the word and figures following ViztIn pursuance
of an Order of Court the 12th. of Novr. last This Comee have considered the
Petition of Richard Manning< no role > Hosier setting forthThat the Petr. has should under
the Governors a House in Holborn ever since Midsr. 1728. at £46 P ann & being
indebted £88. for rent to Misdr. 1741. the Steward made a DistressThat
the Petr. on the 9th. of August last paid to the Steward £42. in full for Rent
to Midsr. 1741. which leaves only £46. due for one year to Midsr. 1742
That the Petr. since he has held the said House has paid £598. for rent
besides £40. Landtax & has laid out in repair £212. But by reason of
the said Distress the Petrs. Lodgers quitting their Lodgings & he is now
repairing the premisses for the reception of New Lodgers which will cost
£84.That in regard the Petr. has never yet had any Allowance
for repair although he has laid out the above £212. upon the premisses
Therefore prayed the Governors will be pleased to allow him the
Charges of putting the said premes into necessary repair in order for the
Accomodation of Lodgers without whose Assistance it will be impossible for
him to pay so large a rentThis Comittee find the Allegations of
the said Petition are true And upon considering the same art of Opinion
to allow the said Richard Manning< no role > Forty six pounds being one years
rent towards putting the said premes into repairAll which is nevertheless
submitted to the Judgment of the Court And it is Ordered that this Opinion
be reported to the next CourtThis Court having duly Weighed and
considered of the said Report doth Confirm the same

Decr. last This Comittee have considered the Petition of Benjamin Bucknall
settingforthThat the Petr. has been Tenant at Will to the Govrs. for a House
in Fowks Court Isaac street for about six years at the Rent of £32. P ann
That in regard his rent is much larger then the Rent of the other
Houses in the said Court of equal goodness with hisTherefore prayed
the Governors will be pleased to made him an Abatement in his rent equal
to the other Tenants in the said Court otherwise he must be oblidged to
quit the premesThis Comee are of Opinion to reduce the said Rent to
£28. P ann to comence from Midsr nextAll which nevertheless is
submitted to the Judgment of the Court And it is Ordered this Opinion
be reported to the next CourtThis Court having duly Weighed and
considered of the said Report doth Confirm the same.
