Ann Nelson< no role > a poor Girl who was comitted to this Hospital by the late Lord Mayer
for being a loose disorderly personand being brought before this Court and she
has neither father nor Mother & know not where she was born but has lain about the
Streets a long time Whereupon It is Ordered that the said Ann Nelson< no role > be sent by
one of the Beadles of this Hospital to the London Workhouse & that the Steward
of this Hospital do pay for her what is usually paid there for parish Children.

Upon reading the humble petition of Richard Manning< no role > Hosier setting forth
That the Petr. has held under the Govrs. a House in Holborn ever since Midsr 1728. At
£46. P ann & being indebted £33. for rent to Midsr. last the Steward made a Distress &
kept a Man in possion several daysUpon which the Petr. applyed to the rest of his
Creditors who all agreed to accept Ten shillings in the pound and the Major part of the
have executed an Instrument whereby they have released to the Petr. one half of
their respective Debts and some of them have furnished him with money & Good
to enable him to carry on his TradeThat the Petr. on the 9th. of August last pair
to the Steward £42. in full of kept to Midsr. 1741. Rich Cares only £46. dew for
one year to Midsr. 1742.That the Petr. since he has held the said house has paid
to the Good £598. for rent besides £40. Landtax & has laid out in repair £212. as
appears by the Workmens bills & receipt which he is ready to produceBut by
reason of the said Distress the Petr. Lodgers quitted the & Lodgings & he is now
repairing the promas for the reception of New Lodger which till cost £84. as by the
particulars hereto an next may appearThat in regard the Petr. has never that had
any Allowance for repaires although he has laid out the above £21. upon the premas
Therefore prayed the Govrs. will be pleased to allow him the Charges of putting
the said premes into necessary repair in order for the Accomodation of Lodgers without
where Assistance it will be impossible for him to pay so large are ntIt is
Ordered that the said Petition be referred to the Committee of this House to consider
of the same & to report their Opinion thereon to the Court.

& Mr. Deputy Hunt in the words & figures following ViztIn pursuance of an
Order of Court the 8th: of Octr. instant This Comittee took into Consideration the Letter
of Mr. Edmund Smith< no role > AGe at for the Lessees of the City Laystalls settingforth that the
is a place in the Precinct of Bridewell claimed by the Govrs. as a Receptacle or
Laystall for the Dung & Soil made in the said Precinct but that Mr. Palmer one of
the Hospitals Tenants has cleared several In as & tried the Rake is to carry the Sal of
the Streets of the City to the Hospital Laystall making it a common Laystall to the gave
prejudice of the said LesscesAnd Mr. Palmer being called in acknowledget to the
Comittee he did take Dung from an Inn not within the Precinct & lay it at the Laystall in
desired the Comittee would give him leave so to doThe Comittee are of Opinion
that Mr. Palmer ought not to fetch any Dung from any place out of the Precinct to lay
it at the Hospital Laystall which is only for the service of the Hospital and their
TenantsAll which nevertheless is submitted to the Judgment of the Court And
it is Ordered that this Opinion be reported to the next CourtThis Court
having duly weighed & considered of the said Report doth confirm the same.
