Examination Text | John Lamb aged 73 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon his oath saith he is a Shoemaker by trade and lived in and rented an house in Turnstile Alley in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields for the space of five years at the yearly rent of 18 pounds besides taxes, quitted the same 10 years ago and never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year or paid any parish taxes since. Taken at the workhouse the day and year abovesaid [first of October 1748]. |
