Examination TextWilliam Carter aged 43 years and upwards destitute of lodging upon his oath saith that he is a Coffin Maker by trade and was bound an apprentice by indenture for seven years to Hannah Tull, Coffin Maker the corner of Dawson's Alley in St Martin's Lane in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields and there served all his time out which expired 22 years ago last December, that he never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes or was a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since, that he was married to his present wife Elizabeth at the ffleet 14 years ago by whom he has one child living to wit Catherine aged nine years and upwards. Sworn the seventh Day of March 1750 before James Fraser.
