Examination Text | Peter Lewis aged about 42 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon his oath saith that he was covenant servant to Peter Dyer a Shoemaker lodging at the sign of the Angel and Crown in New Street near St Martin's Lane in the Parish aforesaid for the space of five years and there served his master two years and a half and then his master run away which is about 17 years ago, since which time he never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes or been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together, that he was married to his present wife Mary at the ffleet about 15 years ago by whom he has one child living, Elizabeth aged about 10 years. Sworn the 27th Day of March 1751 before James Fraser. |
