Examination TextWilliam Tucker aged about 35 years lodging in Bowl Yard in the Parish of St Giles in the Fields upon his oath saith that he never was bound an apprentice kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor was a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together, that he was born in St Martin's Court in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields, and that his Father William Tucker who was a Carpenter by trade lived in and rented an house in the Hop Garden in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields aforesaid for the space of three years at the yearly rent of 10 pounds besides taxes (to the best of this Examinant's knowledge) and there died which is about 18 years ago, and also that his father served his apprenticeship to Mr Le Grant a Carpenter in Castle Street by the Mews in the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields, that this Examinant was married to his present wife Mary at the ffleet the 21st of September in the year 1749 by whom he has two children living to wit Mary aged about two years and an half and Hannah aged about one year and an half both now with this Examinant. Sworn the ninth day of June 1752 before Benjamin Cox.
