Examination TextElizabeth Claxton aged about 45 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields passed as a vagrant from the Borough of Huntingdon upon her oath saith that she is the widow of John Claxton (who has been dead 19 years), that since his death she was a yearly hired servant to Mrs Norton who kept the Rainbow Coffee House in Lancaster Court in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields aforesaid for the space of one year and upwards at the yearly wages of 5 pounds diet and lodging, quitted the same about four years ago, that she never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since. Taken in the workhouse the 18th Day of November 1751.
