Examination Text | Edward Southall aged 39 years and upwards in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields passed in the Parish of St Bartholomew the great London upon his oath saith that he was a yearly hired servant to Mr Dunand a Pewterer in St Martin's Lane in the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields for the space of 13 months at the yearly wages of 7 pounds diet and lodging, quitted the same about 18 years ago, that he never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor been a yearly hired servant since, that he was married to his present wife Ann at the ffleet nine years ago by whom he hath two child[ren] to wit Alexander aged 13 years, and Ann aged three years both now with this Examinant, which first mention child is by his former [wife] Debborah to whom he was married at St Andrew's Church Holborn about 17 years ago.
