Examination TextJohn Burr aged 26 years and upwards in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields passed from the Parish of St Margaret within the liberty of Westminster upon his oath saith that he never was bound an apprentice kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor hath been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together, that his Father Edward Burr is a Cordwainer by trade and hath lived in and rented an house in Charles Court in the Strand in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields aforesaid for the space of about four years at the yearly rent of 10 pounds besides taxes, and still continues to live in and rent the said house, that he was married to his present wife Elizabeth at May Fair Chapel about five years ago by whom he hath one child living to wit Edward aged about two years now with this Examinant. Sworn the 11th Day of October 1755 before Benjamin Cox.
