Examination Text | Susannah Jones aged 60 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon her oath saith that she is the wife of Thomas Jones (gone from her) to whom she was married at the Fleet 26 years ago, that her said husband is by trade a Shoemaker and served the last year of his apprenticeship to Robert Turner in Pipemakers Alley in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields aforesaid which expired about 27 years ago, that he never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor hath been a yearly hired servant since the expiration of his said apprenticeship. Sworn the 24th Day of April 1758 before Thomas Balack. |
