| Examination Text | Bridget Evans aged 27 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon her oath saith that she is the widow of Charles Evans (who died six years ago), that since his death having no children living she was a yearly hired servant to Mrs Davis in Spring Gardens in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields aforesaid for the space of 18 months at the yearly wages of 6 pounds diet and lodging, quitted the same last Michaelmas, that she never kept house rented 10 pounds by the year nor paid any parish taxes since. Taken in the workhouse of 24th Day of April 1758. |
