Examination TextAnn Davy aged 24 Years upon her Oath saith that she was never Married that she served Two Years & upwards underrate Yearly hiring with Mr James Shrapnell at Charing Cross in the Parish of Saint Martin in the ffields at the Yearly Wages of Eight Pounds diet & lodging quitted the same about Seven Months ago since which she had done acted gain a subsequent Settlement. And this Examinant upon her voluntary Oath further saith that she is now big with Child or Children , which is or are likely to be Born a Bastard or Bastards and to become chargeable to the said Parish of Saint Martin in the ffields and that Thomas Stevens who is Shopman to Mr Shrapnell hired several Times carnal Knowledge of her Body and that one-off which Times did beget her with the Child or Children she now goeth with & is pregnant of and that the said Thomas Stevens is the true and only ffather thereof and no Man else.
