Examination TextElizabeth Lewling aged 40 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields passed by a permissive pass from the town of Great Yarmouth in the County of Norfolk upon her oath saith that she is the wife of John Lewling (gone from her) to whom she was married at Yarmouth aforesaid about six years ago, that her said husband is a Shoemaker by trade, that he served three years as an apprentice to Mr Horne in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields aforesaid, but the particular part she cannot tell, that she never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor hath been a yearly hired servant since he quitted the said Mr Horne's service, that she hath one child living by her said husband to wit Susannah aged five years now with this Examinant. Sworn the 6th January 1763 before Benjamin Cox.
