Examination TextMary Malton aged 23 years and upwards lodging at Mr James's in Hewitts Court in the Strand in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon her oath saith that she is the wife of John Malton (gone from her) to whom she was married at the Parish Church of St. James within the liberty of Westminster about a year and three quarters ago, that her said husband is a Carpenter by trade and lived in and rented an house in Oxendon Street in the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields for the space of three quarters of a year at the yearly rent of 20 pounds besides taxes, quitted the same at Christmas last, that he hath not kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year or paid any parish taxes since, that she this Examinant is now pregnant. Sworn the 11th Day of July 1762 before Benjamin Cox.
