Examination TextCatherine Arther aged 24 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields passed from the Parish of St Sepulchre in the County of Middlesex upon her oath saith that she is the wife of Richard Arther (who is gone to Sea) to whom she was married at the Parish Church of St Sepulchre London the 27th Day of April in the year 1760, that her said husband before his intermarriage was a yearly hired servant to Mr Robinson a Victualler at the sign of the Legg the corner of Legg Alley in Long Acre in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields aforesaid for the space of two years at the yearly wages of 4 pounds as this deponent hath been informed, diet and lodging, quitted the same before his intermarriage with this Examinant but how long before she cannot tell, that her said husband never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor hath been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since he quitted the said Mr Robinson's. Sworn the ninth day of June 1762 before Benjamin Cox.
