Examination TextJohn Ransem aged 40 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon his oath saith that he this Examinant was born next door to the sign of the Cheshire Cheese in Venegar Yard in the Parish aforesaid, that he never was bound apprentice kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid the Parish taxes nor hath been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together, that his father was born in the County of Bucks, but the particular part he this Examinant cannot tell, that his said Father never kept tenement house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor was a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together to this Examinant's knowledge. Taken in the workhouse of 21st Day of April 1761.
