Examination TextRichard Spratt aged 62 years lodging at Mr Bone's a Stove Grate Maker in Warner Street in Cold Bath Fields upon his oath saith that he is a Smith by trade and lived in rented an house on the right hand side of Langley Street from Long Acre in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields for the space of five years at the yearly rent of 12 pounds besides taxes, quitted the same about 33 years ago, that he hath not kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since, that he was married to his present wife Anne at St Pancras Church in the County of Middlesex about 11 years ago, that he hath one child by his said wife to wit Anne aged about nine years now with this Examinant. Sworn the 21st Day of February 1769 for Peter Planck.
