Examination TextThomas Gent aged 35 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields passed from the Parish of St Clement Danes upon his oath saith that he was bound an apprentice by an indenture for seven years to Thomas Ohill a Mason (near Dirty Lane) in Long Acre in the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields, and that he the said Thomas Ohill assigned him this Examinant over to Mr Jarvis Snape Gold Beater in Long Acre and there served the said Mr Snape the said term of seven years which expired in the year 1757, that he never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since, that Married his wife Eleanor at St Martin's Church in this Parish near 15 years ago, by whom he hath two children to wit George aged eight years and upwards and Thomas aged six years both now with this Examinant. Sworn the 27th Day of June 1771 before Peter Planck.
