Examination TextMary Shelton aged 50 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon her oath saith that she is the wife of Joseph Shelton (now in the Marshalsea Prison) to whom she was married at the Parish Church of Ramsey in the County of Huntington the fifth day of October in the year 1749, that her said husband is a Baker by trade and lived in and rented an house in Angel Court near Charing Cross in the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields for the space of two years and a quarter at the yearly rent of 30 pounds besides taxes, quitted the said house at Christmas last, that her said husband hath not kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year nor paid any parish taxes since.
