| Examination Text | Grace Rowe aged 61 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon her oath saith that she never was married, that she was a yearly hired servant to Mr Caton, Button Seller, that corner of Mays Buildings in St Martin's Lane in the Parish aforesaid for the space of three years at the yearly wages of five pounds diet and lodging, quitted the same about 11 years ago, that she never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since. Taken in the workhouse the 13th Day of May 1771. |
