Examination TextThomas Clubb aged about 40 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields passed from the Parish of St Sepulchre in the County of Middlesex upon his oath saith that he never was bound an apprentice, that he this Examinant while single and unmarried was a yearly hired servant in the capacity of a servant or Porter to Mr Forbes a Wine Merchant in Duke Street York buildings in the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields for the space of one year and an half all under one hiring at the yearly wages of 12 Guineas diet and lodging, quitted the said service about 18 years ago, that he this Examinant hath not kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since he quitted the aforesaid service, that he this Examinant was married to his present wife Elizabeth at the Parish Church of St Martin in the Fields about 17 years ago by whom he hath three children living to wit James aged about 16 years, which said James was never bound an apprentice nor was a yearly hired servant, Mary aged about six years and Thomas aged about three years all now with this Examinant. Sworn the seventh Day of November 1772 before Thomas Kynaston.
