Examination TextMary Kavenor aged 62 years lodging at Mr Burks the corner of Kings Court in Russell Street in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon her oath saith that she is the widow of John Kavenor who died 16 years ago as she this Examinant hath been informed and verily believes to whom she was married at the Fleet in the year 1726, that her said husband was born in the Kingdom of Ireland as she this Examinant hath been informed and verily believes, that her said husband never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor was a yearly hired servant in any one place in England to this Examinant's knowledge, that before her intermarriage with her said John Kavenor she was bound an apprentice by an indenture until she should attain the age of 21 years or day of marriage to William Lane a Staymaker in Crown Court in Russell Street in the Parish aforesaid and there served her said Master all the said term, which expired about 40 years ago, that she never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since. Sworn the third Day of October 1772 before Thomas Kynaston.
