Examination Text | Ann Choppin aged 17 years passed as a vagrant from the Parish of St Giles in the Fields in the County of Middlesex to the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon her oath saith that she never was married nor bound an apprentice, that she was a yearly hired servant to Mr Phesey who kept the sign of the Bull and Mouth near the Burying Ground in Drury Lane in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields for the space of 14 months all under one hiring at the yearly wages of 4 pounds 10 shillings diet and lodging, quitted the same about two years ago, that she hath not kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since. Sworn the 18th Day of October 1782 before William Hyde. |
