Examination TextThe Examination of Mary Dunster passed as a vagrant from the Parish of St Andrew Holborn above the Bars to the Parish of St Martin in the Fields taken this 20th Day of November 1782. This Examinant on her oath saith that she is about 55 years of age, that she is the widow of William Dunster who died at America about three years ago as she hath been informed and verily believes to be true, to whom she was married at the Fleet the 26th Day of March in the year 1749, that her said husband was bound an apprentice by an indenture for seven years to Mr Moore a Taylor in Monmouth Court in the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields and there served his said Master all the said term out as she hath been informed by her said husband, that her said husband never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor was a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together after the expiration of his said apprenticeship to this Examinant's knowledge, that she this Examinant hath not kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year nor paid any parish taxes since the death of her said husband, that she hath one child living by her said husband to wit Mary aged 22 years which said Mary never was married bound an apprentice kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor was a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together, now passed with this Examinant. Sworn the 20th Day of November 1782 before William Hyde.
