Examination TextThe Examination of Octavia Wilson removed by an order of two Justices from the Parish of St Giles in the Fields in the County of Middlesex to the Parish of St Martin in the Fields in the same county taken this 19th Day of August 1778. This Examinant on her oath saith she is 29 years of age, that she is the wife of David Wilson (gone from her nine weeks ago) to whom she was married at the Parish Church of St. George the Martyr by Queens Square the 21st of June in the year 1772, that her said husband never was bound an apprentice kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor was a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together as her said husband hath informed this Examinant, that her said husband's father John Wilson was a Taylor by trade and lived in and rented an house in Hemmings Row in the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields for the space of one year at the yearly rent of 12 pounds besides taxes, that her said husband's father never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year nor paid any parish taxes after he quitted the aforesaid house to this Examinant's knowledge, that she hath one child by her said husband to wit David aged 16 months now with this Examinant.
