Examination TextThe Examination of Thomas Mackulla lodging at Mr Dixon's in Vine Street in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields taken this 18th of December in the year 1777. This Examinant on his oath saith that he is about 84 years of age, that he never was bound an apprentice, that while single and unmarried he was a yearly hired servant in the capacity of a Valet to William Bristow Esq in the Middle Scotland Yard in the Parish aforesaid for the space of three years at the yearly wages of 7 pounds board wages and lodged at the said Mr Bristow's apartments in Scotland Yard, and was discharged his said Master's service in Scotland Yard about 50 or 60 years ago, since which time he this Examinant hath not kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor been yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together. [Scored through:] That he was married to his present wife Elizabeth at May fair Chapel about 24 or 25 years ago now with this Examinant. Sworn the 18th Day of December 1777 before J. Hale.
