Examination TextJames Norton aged about 50 years lodging at Mrs Carbon in Dawson's Alley in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon his oath saith that he was a yearly hired servant to Mr Moyce an Inn Keeper near the top of St Martin's Lane in the Parish aforesaid for the space of two years all under one hiring at the yearly wages of six Guineas diet and lodging, quitted the same about 17 years ago, that he hath not kept house rented tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor hath been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since, that he was married to his present wife Mary at the Parish Church of St John at Wappen [sic] about 13 years ago. Sworn the 25th day of January 1776 before Thomas Bullard.
