| Examination Text | The Examination of Mary Edwards taken on Oath this Thirteenth Day of September Anno Domini 1732 Who on her Oath Saith she was never married And that she is about 20 Years of Age That she was on Saturday ye 2d of September Instant Delivered of a ffemale Bastard child since Christened Ann in the Workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the ffields And further on her Oath Saith that one Thomas Harris lately Yeoman of the Wine Cellar to the Duke of Shandois had Sometime in the month of Decr last Carnal Knowledge of her Body in her mistress Lodging in Dukes Court upon her mistress's Bed there on two pair of Stairs backwards and Several times afterwards there and elsewhere at one which times he begat on her Body the said ffemale Bastard Child And that he the said Thomas Harris is the true and only ffather of the said ffemale Bastard Child And noman else Jurat 13 die Septembris Anno Domini 1732 Saml Grey Rob Stiles The Mark of Mary Edwards |
