Examination TextSusanna Johnson aged about 67 yeares now in the workhouse Saith her maiden name was Butler and that she was born at Clerkenwell Green where her father who was a Painter kept House and that she now is the Widow of Richard Johnson who was born in Germany as he told her and who died about 9 yeares agoe to whom she was married at the fleet about 22 years Since and by whom she had no Child That he used the Seas and that he never kept House Saith that when she married the said Johnson she was and had been the widow of Thomas Butcher about a year and an half and that she was his wife about Seven years and an half And that in the time of her marriage with her said Husband Butcher who was a miller and born in Oxfordshire as he told her but where there never heard that they kept House about a year and a Quarter in Castle Street the corner of Cock Alley behind Long Acre in this Pish for which they paid either 9£ or 10£ Pr Ann rent and the Poors Rate and never kept any other house in his Life time that she hath one Son by him named John now abroad Saith when she married her said Husband Butcher she was the wido of John Stuart to whom she was married at Marybone Church about 40 years since That he was by Trade a Taylor and that they kept House in St Martins Lane in this Pish of 14£ Pr Ann And in Rose Street in this Pish of 18£ Pr Ann And that they or any of them during her marriage to them or She during her widowhood never kept any other House than those before mentioned nor she never was a yearly hired Servant since the Decease of her said Husband Johnson
