Examination TextElizabeth Platt aged about 48 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields in the County of Middlesex upon her oath saith that she is the widow of John Platt (who died about nine years ago) to whom she was married at the Parish Church of St Martin in the Fields about 14 years ago, that her said husband was a Cordwainer by trade and lived in and rented a house in Dukes Court in Drury Lane in the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields for the space of 11 years at the yearly rent of 14 pounds besides taxes, quitted the same about [blank] years ago, that he never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year nor paid any parish taxes afterwards, nor hath she this Examinant nor been a yearly hired servant since the death of her said husband. Taken in the workhouse the 13th Day of February 1766.
