Examination TextMichael Potter aged about 54 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields passed from the Parish of St Mary Magdalene Bermondsey in the Borough of Southwark in the County of Surry upon his oath saith that he was bound an apprentice by an indenture for seven years to Mr Rocheleau, a Hatter in that part of Castle Street by the Mews which is in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields aforesaid, and there served all the said time out which expired about 28 years ago, that he never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor hath been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since. Sworn the fourth Day of January 1766 before Peter Planck.
