Examination TextJohn Ward aged about 38 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields passed from the Parish of St Luke in the County of Middlesex upon his oath saith that before his intermarriage while single and unmarried he was a yearly hired servant to Mr Hole who keeps the Wine Vaults near New Round Court in the Strand in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields aforesaid for the space of one whole year at the yearly wages of 9 pounds diet and lodging, quitted the same five years ago, that he never kept house rented tenement of 10 pounds by the year nor paid any parish taxes since, that he married his present wife Ann at Holy Trinity Church in Kingston upon Hull in the County of York about three months after he quitted the said service by whom he has three children living to wit William aged four years and upwards, Rebecca aged one year and upwards and John aged eight weeks all now in the workhouse aforesaid. Sworn the 24th Day of August 1756 before Benjamin Cox.
