Examination Text | John Fodred aged 60 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields passed from the Parish of St. James within the liberty of Westminster upon his oath saith that he never was married, that he was a yearly hired servant in the capacity of a Groom of the Chambers to Sir Grigory Page Bart. in Spring Gardens in the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields for the space of 17 years at the yearly wages of 24 pounds diet and lodging, that he this Examinant never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since he quitted the said Sir Grigory Page's service. Taken the workhouse the second Day of July 1768. |
