Examination TextRichard Shaw aged upwards of 50 years in the workhouse, is a Gunsmith and saith he was bound apprentice by indenture for [blank] years to his father Richard Shaw who lived in White Post Yard Charing Cross in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields where he lived about three or four years, that then his Father removed below the Ship Tavern in the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields and he this Examinant with him where he served the remainder of his apprenticeship which expired [blank] years ago, is a widower and has so been five years, that he has one child by his late wife Jane (to whom he was married the Fleet) (to wit) Richard in the Free School of St. George Bloomsbury, that he never kept any house rented 10 pounds per ann. paid any parish taxes or was a yearly hired servant. Sworn the [blank].
