Examination Text | Esther Miller aged 63 years in the workhouse saith that she is the widow of Thomas Miller (who died three years ago), and that she was married to him at Dartford in Kent 25 years ago but has no child by him now living, that her said husband was trade [sic] and that they kept a publicg house together (being the sign of a Weaver's Arms) in Lumley Court in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields for which they paid 10 pounds by the year rent besides taxes, that they quitted the same house about seven years ago and that her said husband never kept house rented 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes afterwards, and that she this Examinant since her said husband's death never was married nor a yearly hired servant but hath lived in private lodgings ever since.
