Examination TextElizabeth Jones aged upwards of 34 years lodging at one Mr. Dodson's in Hanover Street in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields where she hath lodged about four years saith that she was married to her husband Rice Jones (who is now in the Marshalsea Prison) at a china shop near Little Queen Street in Holborn by Romish Priest belonging to the French Ambassador near five years ago and hath two children by him to wit John aged three years and a half and Magdalen aged above one year and a half, that her said husband is a Staymaker was bound an apprentice by indenture for seven years to one Mr Blanch, a Staymaker in James Street by Long Acre within the Parish of St Martin in the Fields and there served all his time as her said husband, and also the son of the said Mr Blanch who now keeps the same house and business, hath both informed her, and she further saith that since the expiration of his apprenticeship he never was a yearly hired servant or rented 10 pounds by the year. Sworn the 7th October 1738 before Val Hilder.
