Examination TextElizabeth Hathaway aged 41 years in the workhouse saith she is the widow of Anthony Hathaway (who died five years ago) to whom she was married at St Martin's Church seven years ago, but hath no child by him, that he was a Smith by trade and served his apprenticeship at Gloucester, and then they kept house together in New Street in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upwards of one year, which said house they took at the yearly rent of 18 pounds of one Mr Hipwell, a Gingerbread Baker in the same Street, that they quitted that house five years ago and that she never rented 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes or a yearly hired servant since.
