Examination TextSarah Read aged 62 years in the workhouse saith she is the wife William Read (now at work for one Mr Allstone near Chelsea) to whom she was married at Ashton in Northamptonshire 34 years ago and hath by him two sons living to wit John aged 33 years, now or lately in the service of his Grace the Duke of Bolton, and William aged 31, by trade a Shoemaker to which business he was bound an apprentice and served his time at Sollbury in Buckinghamshire, and that her said husband and she kept house together near the Nags Head alehouse in Hedge Lane in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields the space of 20 years, paid 12 pounds yearly rent, and that she came from her said house into the workhouse.
