Examination TextWilliam Hulett aged 32 years lodging at one Mr Leigh's a Taylor in Pump Court in White Hart Yard in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields where he hath lodged upwards of three months upon his oath saith that he was married to Jane his wife at the Fleet upwards of seven years ago and hath two children by her to wit Peter aged upwards of five years, and a male child not yet christened born on Friday the 17th instant at the house of the said Mr Leigh in Pump Court aforesaid, that he this Examinant was born in the shire of East Lothian in Scotland and came from thence 15 years ago and that since his coming to London he was a yearly hired servant to William Fraser, a Tobacconist and Distiller near Cecil Street in the Strand in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields aforesaid whom he there served two years, had 6 pounds for the first year and 6 pounds and 10 shillings for the second year wages diet and lodging, quitted that service about seven years before ever he was married and that since he left the service of the said Mr Fraser he never kept house rented 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes or lived a year in any service since. Sworn the 18th Day of August 1739 before Val Hilder.
