Examination TextAnn Jones aged near 40 years lodging at one Mr Single's in Hartshorne Lane where she hath lodged a quarter of a year saith that she is the wife of Charles Jones (who has been gone from her 12 months and where he is now knoweth not), that she was married to him at the Hand and Pen in Fleet Lane by Mr Hoskyns nine years ago, that he was a Painter but was never bound an apprentice as she ever heard to that or any other business nor ever kept any house rented 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes or was the yearly hired servant, that he was born as he hath informed her somewhere in Wales but knows not nor ever heard at what place, that she hath no child by him, that she this Examinant was born is Spur Alley and was bound an apprentice by indenture by the officers of this Parish to one [blank] Shrieves a Marketwoman who lived in Cox's Alley in Long Acre where and with whom she served her all apprenticeship, that since the expiration whereof she never kept any house rented 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes or was a yearly hired servant and that she never was married to any other Person.
