Examination TextEdward Langford aged 72 years in the workhouse saith he is by trade a Cutler and that he was bound an apprentice by an indenture for seven years to one Anthony Watson near Hunts Court in St Martin's Lane and there served between two and three years, and then his Master died (which was some time after the death of King Charles the Second), and that after his Master's death he continued to serve his widow and her next husband Henry Floyd in the same house two years more or thereabouts, and was then impressed in the army in the service of the late King William in which he served about four years, and that he never kept any house rented 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes or was yearly hired servant, that he hath no wife or child living.
