Examination TextElizabeth Webb aged 26 years lodging at one Mr [blank] a Silver Smith in Green Street by Leicester Fields saith that she never was married nor bound an apprentice, that she was a yearly hired servant to one Mr Rogers, a Victualler in Green Street aforesaid whom she there served near one year and came thence to her present lodging, that she was born at Horesham in Sussex and came thence 13 years ago and that she was a servant to one Mrs Jacobs, whose husband was a Hollands Trader and lived in Great Garden at St Catherines by the Tower, but not hired for any certain time, whom she served there about four years had lodging diet and such cloaths as her mistress thought fit to give her, and that she never lived a year together in any service except in that of the said Mrs Jacobs as aforesaid, that she never kept any house rented 10 pounds by the year or paid any parish taxes, that her father Joseph Webb, who was a Shopkeeper kept house in Horesham aforesaid several years but what rent paid or whether he paid any parish taxes knows not nor ever heard, that he removed thence to Storrington in the Parish of Chiltington in the County of Sussex aforesaid and a kept house of 4 pounds and five shillings by the year rent for several years and there died, knows not whether he paid any parish taxes or had any certificate from Horesham or elsewhere.
