Examination TextElizabeth Langton aged about 48 years lodging at Mr Marshalls in Russell Court saith she is this widow of Merit Langton who hath been dead near a year and to whom she was married at St Martin in the Fields Church about 11 years ago, that her said husband and she this Examinant kept a Chandler's Shop and lived in and rented a house in Red Lyon Court in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields for the space of about eight years and paid 12 pounds per ann for the same and parish taxes (but if they paid of the poor's rate knows not) which they quitted four years ago and hath not kept any house rented 10 pounds per ann. or paid any parish taxes since, that she hath three children by her said husband to wit Mary aged 10 years, Dennis aged eight years and Richard aged six years. Sworn the 22nd of January 1741 before me Val Hilder.
