Examination TextCharles Durance aged 54 years lodging at one Robinson's, a publick house on Windmill Hill near Moor ffields saith he lived in and rented an house in Oxendon Street in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields for the space of three years, paid 16 pounds per ann. rent, quitted at house about 20 years ago and never kept any other house rented 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes or executed any annual parochial office since, that he was married to Alice his wife, removed from Althorpe in Northamptonshire, at a place called to Tifhill near Towcester near 28 years since, but has no child by her now living. Sworn the eighth of January 1741 before Val Hilder.
